This year, things are different. The High Time Hemp Cup festival is adapting and going virtual. That means, we’ll be documenting our entire journey and bringing you along with us.
“Even without the ability to gather in public, the new concept has been a success, says Mark Kazinec, the director of competitions and events for High Times. “People have been thrilled that we can continue doing these competitions even in a pandemic,” Kazinec writes, as reported in Forbes.
We’re kicking off judging from now until May 3, building toward the Awards Show on Sunday, May 9.
What is the High Times Hemp Cup?
The hemp market is larger and more promising than ever. That also means it can be more challenging to navigate.

This is a Hemp-Derived CBD competition only. All products must be registered by the State of origin and must have proof of lab results confirming the product is Hemp-Derived and under 0.3% Delta-9 THC.”
How Does the High Time Hemp Cup Work?
The competition includes over 200 different products across different categories. Each kit contains an assortment of items from the following categories- WOW:

- Edibles: Gummies
- Edibles: Non-Gummies

How Will We Judge the Best Hemp in Each Category?
The CBD Department team has honed our hemp selection skills after working with the best brands on the market and launching our own house brand. We developed a system that allows us to methodically assess brands and products, while inserting a critical human touch to it. Over the coming weeks, we’ll share our judging methodology with you in hopes that it will help you learn how to judge for yourself.
